UPDATE – 05/23/23: Steven Sheangshang, 45, has been charged in connection with the shooting that occurred on Georgetown Road. Sheangshang was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center on May 23, 2023, and charged with the following:

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred overnight on Florence Avenue.

The “A Sense of Place” Steering Committee is planning to celebrate Lexington’s Rural Black Hamlets on Juneteenth.
