Get in gear for the third annual Streetfest

The Lexington Area Metropolitan Planning Organization will host the third annual StreetFest from 10 a.m. to noon this Saturday, May 11. Join the community to bike, scoot, skate, jog, skip or walk freely on a mile-long, car-free loop to celebrate streets as shared, public spaces.

Oliver Lewis Way between West High Street and South Broadway will be closed to traffic for this family-friendly event. Kids will love the bounce house, giant bubbles, sidewalk chalk and hula hoop contest. Free bike tune-ups will be available, and youth bikes can be checked out on a first-come, first-served basis. Food trucks will be on site.

StreetFest is part of Bike Month, which promotes the benefits of bike riding and encourages new riders to give biking a try. This year, Lexington bike riders are invited to participate in the Bike Month Challenge. Track rides in May through the Love to Ride app for a chance to win prizes. Download the app.
