Streets & Roads
Streets & Roads maintains all city and county roads, except those on the state and federal highway system. Work includes pothole repair, snow removal, street sweeping, intersection curb repair, sidewalk handicap ramp installation, routine and emergency servicing of storm sewer drains and maintenance of various bridges and certain creeks within the Urban Services Area.
Snow and ice plan
The city has a comprehensive snow and ice plan designed to keep winter roadways safe in the most reasonable, efficient and effective manner.
Pothole repairs
During normal business hours, Streets & Roads makes every effort to repair a pothole that has been reported to LexCall within 48 hours. To report a pothole on a city maintained street, contact LexCall at 311 or (859) 425-2255.
To report a pothole on a state maintained road, call (859) 246-2059 or (859) 246-2355.

It may be Valentine’s Day, but Mother Nature isn’t showing Lexington a lot of love. With ice still weighing down many branches, the city is bracing for at least one and maybe two new rounds of snow, ice and continued cold, with power outages a strong possibility.
The City’s top priority is to keep the public safe, especially in the event of power outages and ice-covered streets.
City officials are monitoring the weather situation and are preparing for the possibilities of ice and snow tonight and tomorrow. The National Weather Service has issued an ice storm warning for central Kentucky that begins at 1 a.m.
