What are Urban Services?
Urban services are city services that correspond to various tax districts. Lexington’s urban services include waste collection, street lights, and street-cleaning. These additional services are paid for through a property tax based on what benefits you add. You can read more about the details and scope of these services and/or call the Department of Environmental Quality & Public Works at (859) 258-3401 for additional information.
How do I receive these urban services?
In most circumstances, you and the neighbors on your street can sign a petition requesting a mail-in vote to change districts. If a majority of the votes are favorable, then this will trigger the change and its process. For further assistance, you are also welcome to call the Department of Environmental Quality & Public Works at (859) 258-3401.
