If your sewer bill is high because of a water line or plumbing leak that didn't enter the sewer system, you might qualify for a leak adjustment. You may be eligible for an adjustment if you have certain types of leaks, such as:
- Service line leaks
- Water meter leaks
- Faulty meter dials
- Water tank leaks
- Recommended cold weather drippage.
Toilet leaks are not eligible for an adjustment.
If the leak happened in the summer, check your LEXserv bill. The AWC discounted rate may cover any adjustment.
If you qualify for a leak adjustment, fill out the Leak Adjustment Request Form below. Before we can make an adjustment, you must repair the leak and provide documentation. Leak adjustments cannot cover a period greater than 90 days.
To make the review process faster, fill out the entire adjustment request form. Completing the leak adjustment request doesn't guarantee qualification, but it's necessary for consideration.
