The city implements and enforces a program to reduce pollutants in construction site runoff. The program is on ordinances which stipulate requirements for construction site operators to implement appropriate erosion and sediment control best management practices (BMPs).
The ordinances also contain procedures for review of construction site plans, the requirement that potential water quality impacts be given consideration and incorporation in construction site plan development, procedures for receipt and consideration of information submitted by the public, and procedures for site inspection and an escalating enforcement program. Staff training and reviews of construction site erosion and sediment control plans are required.
If you are a developer, contractor, or builder here is a list of the requirements for obtaining a Land Disturbance Permit and/or complying with city rules on erosion control and stormwater management.
