What do you think about trees? The City wants to know

The City is asking residents to provide their thoughts about trees in a new survey. Responses will inform policies and programs related to trees in Lexington-Fayette County.

The survey is open Oct. 14 through Nov. 10. All Fayette County residents are encouraged to complete it. The survey is available online in English, Spanish, and Swahili. City employees, contractors and volunteers will also be administering the survey in-person throughout the community.

Fayette County residents who complete the survey and provide follow-up information will be entered in a drawing to win one of ten Visa gift cards.

In 2022, the Urban County Council and the administration designated $1.5 million to support Lexington’s tree canopy. The Division of Environmental Services formed a Tree Canopy Ad Hoc Committee (aka the Lex Grow Trees Committee) to provide input on how the funds should be allocated. This committee is sponsoring the tree survey.
