Fayette County to receive federal disaster assistance for April 2 storms

FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance is available to the Commonwealth of Kentucky to assist in recovery efforts in areas affected by the severe storms on April 2, 2024.

Federal funding is available to those impacted in Boyd, Carter, Fayette, Greenup, Henry, Jefferson, Mason, Oldham, Union and Whitley counties. FEMA shared that assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-interest loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the storms' effects.

Those affected by the storms in the designated areas can apply for FEMA assistance by calling 1-800-621-3362, registering online at DisasterAssistance.gov, or using the FEMA app.

Lexington Emergency Management will post updates on how to apply for assistance as they become available. These updates will be available on BeReadyLexington.comFacebookTwitter (X) and Instagram.
