One arrested for Robbery and Assault

One person has been arrested in connection with a shooting and a robbery that occurred this evening on Village Drive.

On December 21, 2023, at 7:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to Imperial Liquor on Village Drive for a robbery. During the investigation, officers learned that the suspect entered the store with a firearm and attempted to steal beer. During an altercation with the suspect, a store clerk was shot. The suspect was detained by bystanders at the store until officers arrived to take him into custody. The male victim was transported to a local hospital with reported non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, Anthony Parks, 27, was arrested at the scene and charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree and Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
