Registration deadline approaching for Short-Term Rental operators

The deadline for Short-Term Rental (STR) operators to register their properties with the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government is quickly approaching. STR operators must register with LFUCG by Jan. 11, 2024.

Licensure requirements include obtaining a Zoning Compliance Permit, a Business License, and a Special Fees License. The process can take some time, so operators are encouraged to start now. STR operators should visit lexingtonky.gov.com/short-term-rentals for detailed instructions and to get started.

Changes to the Code of Ordinances and the Zoning Ordinance requiring the registration of short-term rentals were approved by the Urban County Council in July 2023.
