Lights, reflective gear, action! The third annual Lex Glow Ride will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Brighton Trail trailhead, behind 1750 Bryant Rd. The event is hosted by the Lexington Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the City of Lexington to promote safe walking and riding behaviors.
Glow Ride kicks off with a festival at 5 p.m., followed by the parade lineup at 6:45 p.m. The festival will take place in the Ashley Home Store parking lot. The ride will take place on the paved path, and the trail will be lit.
This fun, family-friendly event is set for the weekend of the time change to highlight the importance of being safe and seen when riding in the dark, as well as helping cyclists feel more comfortable and confident riding.
The festival will offer a variety of activity stations, including free tire checks and bike tune-ups, reflective gear giveaways and a bike decoration station. Hot chocolate and water will be provided, and food and drink will be available for purchase.
Youth and adult bikes will be available to check out on a first-come, first-served basis.
