Race Street Homicide Investigation

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday evening on Race Street.

On October 15, 2023, at 9:16 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Race Street for shots fired. When they arrived, they found a male victim outside suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The suspect fled before officers arrived.

The Fayette County Coroner's Office will release the name of the decedent.

Detectives from the Personal Crimes Section are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Lexington Police at (859) 258-3600.
