The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred overnight on West Main Street.
On September 24, 2023, at around 1:24 a.m., officers in the 100 block of West Main Street heard gunshots and responded. When they arrived, they found a male victim outside, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The suspect fled before officers arrived.
The Fayette County Coroner's Office will release the name of the decedent.
