One person has been charged in connection with three robberies that took place in the overnight and early morning hours of September 10, 2023, in Lexington.
On September 10, 2023, at around 12:03 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Lex Liquor in the 3000 block of Richmond Road for a robbery. During the robbery, the suspect implied they had a weapon, assaulted an employee, and fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money.
At 3:43 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Speedway in the 2900 block of Tates Creek Road for a robbery and a hold-up alarm. The suspect assaulted an employee during the robbery and stole an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the store before officers arrived.
Then, at 6:16 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Abigail Way for a personal robbery outside a gas station. The suspect implied they had a weapon, assaulted a victim, and fled with their personal items from two individuals.
Utilizing the Real-Time Intelligence Center, Flock license plate reader system, and traffic cameras, information was gathered that connected all three robberies and helped identify the suspect.
Maurice Curry, 22, was arrested on September 10, 2023, in Franklin County and is currently being held at the Franklin County Detention Center. He is facing the below charges in connection with the robberies in Fayette County.
