The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide and shooting that occurred early this morning on Winchester Road.
On August 27, 2023, at around 3:40 a.m., officers were dispatched in the 900 block of Winchester Road for a shooting with a victim. When officers arrived, they located a male victim in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second male victim arrived at a local hospital with reported non-life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound. Detectives from the Personal Crimes Section are continuing to investigate. No suspect information is available at this time.
The Fayette County Coroner's Office will release the name of the decedent.
