Mayor Linda Gorton has named Liz Rodgers as Lexington’s third Chief Information Officer.
“Liz has over 20 years of experience in public sector information technology, working for Kentucky state government,” Gorton said. “She is committed to customer service and continuous improvement, and so are we.”
Rodgers comes to the City from a program management position at Connexus Credit Union in Wisconsin. Before that she led information technology offices in several state agencies including the Commonwealth Office of Technology, the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet, and the Kentucky Education & Workforce Development Cabinet.
“My team and I are dedicated to providing our government workforce with technology that is readily available, operates securely and efficiently, and supports their mission to serve. As the demand for technology-enabled interactions with local government continues to grow, we’re also looking forward to exploring new opportunities to reinforce our connection to the community,” Rodgers said.
A native of Frankfort, Rodgers, 45, holds a bachelor’s of science degree in telecommunications from the University of Kentucky.
She is partner to Brian, and has one child, Sophia.
Rodgers succeeds Aldona Valicenti, who had served as CIO in Lexington since 2012. Valicenti plans to work as a consultant.
