Summerhill Drive Fatal Shooting Investigation

UPDATE: May 10, 2023 – One person has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting that took place on Summerhill Drive.

Stewart Watson, 19, was charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree in the shooting death of Michael Stinnett.

Watson is currently in custody.

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred this evening on Summerhill Drive. 

At 7:14 p.m. on May 5, 2023, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Summerhill Drive for a shooting. When they arrived, they located three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. A male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 19-year-old male in critical condition and a 19-year-old male with non-life-threatening injuries were transported to a local hospital. 

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the decedent.  

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Lexington Police at (859) 258-3600.
