Devonport Drive Homicide Investigation and Arrest

The Lexington Police Department has made an arrest following a homicide that occurred shortly after midnight on September 2.

At around 12:55 a.m., on September 2, 2022, officers responded to the 2200 block of Devonport Drive for a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a 26-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. 

A 17-year-old male was arrested at the scene and charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a minor.

The victim and the juvenile subject resided at the same residence and the homicide occurred after a domestic violence altercation between the victim and a third-party.

The victim's name will be released by the Fayette County Coroner's Office.
