Technology helps Lexington Police identify and locate a burglary suspect.
On Thursday, October 10, 2024, around 7:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Brown Avenue for a burglary. When officers arrived, they learned that an individual had made unlawful entry into the residence and stolen the resident’s car keys and vehicle, as well as other items.
Using the Lexington Police Department’s Flock License Plate Readers, and Fūsus software, officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle later that day.
Officers charged Penny Lineweaver, 40, with Burglary 2nd Degree, Theft By Unlawful Taking (Auto $10,00 < $100,000), and Possession of a Controlled Substance 1ST Degree (Methamphetamine).
