Hillcrest Avenue Shooting Investigation Arrest

One person has been arrested following a shooting that took place on Hillcrest Avenue on June 28. 

Trent Watkins, 20, was charged with one count of Assault 2nd degree and six counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st degree. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center. 

On June 28, 2024, around 1:26 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Hillcrest Ave and Highland Drive for shots fired. A female victim was located in the 300 block of Hillcrest Ave with a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
