Trade Street Homicide Investigation

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred this morning on Trade Street.

On September 29, 2023, at around 8:20 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Trade Street for a shooting with a victim. When they arrived, they found a male victim in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The suspect fled before officers arrived.

The Fayette County Coroner's Office will release the name of the decedent.

Detectives from the Personal Crimes Section are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Lexington Police at (859) 258-3600.
