Glen Arvin Avenue Shooting Investigation Arrest

UPDATE - 08/20/24: One person has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred on Glen Arvin Avenue.

Utilizing the Real-Time Intelligence Center, Flock license plate readers, and FUSUS, officers were able to identify the suspect as Javonte Briscoe, 32. Briscoe was arrested on August 20, 2024, and charged with Assault 1st Degree, Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

On August 15, 2024, around 9:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Glen Arvin Avenue and Georgetown Street for a shooting with a victim. When officers arrived, they located a male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with reported life-threatening injuries.

Detectives continue to investigate and ask residents and businesses in the area to check their surveillance cameras and contact the Lexington Police if they have footage that may help the investigation.
