Delaware Avenue Homicide Investigation and Arrest

The Lexington Police Department has arrested one person in connection with a homicide that occurred this evening on Delaware Avenue.

On August 20, 2024, around 5:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Delaware Avenue for a shooting with a victim. When officers arrived, they located a male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Luis Ramos, 29, was arrested at the scene and charged with Murder and Using Restricted Ammunition During Commission of a Crime, as well as unrelated warrants. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the decedent.
