Third Street and Elm Tree Lane Assault Arrest

One person has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred near Third Street and Elm Tree Lane.

On August 10, 2023, at 2:51 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Third Street and Elm Tree Lane to assist another agency with a victim who had been stabbed. The female victim was transported to a local hospital with reported non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. 

Investigators identified the suspect as Joseph Silverburg, 68. Silverburg was arrested on August 11, 2023, and charged with Assault (1st degree) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (1st degree).

He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
