One person has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred earlier today on Winchester Rd near Liberty Rd.
On June 25, 2024, around 1:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Winchester Rd and Liberty Rd for a shooting with a victim. When officers arrived, they located a female victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with reported non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled before officers arrived.
Utilizing the Real-Time Intelligence Center, license plate readers, and traffic cameras, detectives were able to identify the suspect as Demetrius Maxberry, 24. Maxberry was arrested and charged with Assault 1st Degree (Domestic Violence), Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, and Possession of a Handgun by Convicted Felon. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
