One Arrested Following a Kidnapping

One person has been arrested for kidnapping and sexual abuse for an incident that occurred on May 4, 2024.

On May 6, 2024, officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Village Drive for an assault. The female victim told officers she was forced into a car at gunpoint and taken to an apartment complex.

Utilizing the Real-Time Intelligence Center, Flock license plate readers, and traffic cameras, detectives were able to identify the suspect as Jose Cabellero-Vazquez, 24. Vazquez was arrested on June 6, 2024, by the Georgetown Police Department. He is currently being held at the Scott County Detention Center on the charges of Kidnapping (Adult) and Sexual Abuse 1st degree awaiting extradition to Fayette County.
