Traffic Alert Issued Ahead of Busy Lexington Weekend

The Lexington Police Department is issuing a traffic alert ahead of a busy weekend in Lexington.

Several events will be taking place across Lexington from Thursday through Sunday and the community should expect heavier vehicle and pedestrian traffic, especially in areas where the events are taking place. Anyone traveling to the events or in the areas where the events are taking place should use extreme caution and allow plenty of extra time to make it to their destination safely.

If officers are present in the area, motorists and pedestrians should follow all directions given by the officers, as well as, all posted traffic signs and signals.

Below is a list of some of the events taking place across Lexington.  

Fayette County Public Schools Graduation Ceremonies

  • Location: Rupp Arena at the Central Bank Center
  • Dates: Thursday, May 30 and Friday, May 31   
     

Railbird Festival

  • Location: Red Mile
  • Dates: Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2
     

2024 NCAA Lexington Regional Baseball Games

  • Location: Kentucky Proud Park
  • Dates: Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1

 

As always, the Lexington Police Department is asking anyone traveling in the area to stay alert.  Don’t drive distracted or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
