Elm Street Death Investigation

May 5, 2023 - UPDATE: The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has ruled the death a homicide. The Lexington Police Department is still investigating to determine if a criminal act occurred. At this time, no one is in custody.

The Lexington Police Department is conducting a death investigation after a fatal shooting that occurred this evening on Elm Street.

At around 6:24 p.m. on May 3, 2023, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Elm Street for shots fired. When they arrived, they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. At this time, all parties have been identified.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the decedent’s name.
