Housing choice voucher (Section 8) waiting list to open April 24-28, 2023

This is an archived news story.  The waiting list for the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program is currently closed.

The Lexington Housing Authority (LHA) will open the waiting list for the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program on April 24 – 28, 2023. LHA will accept online pre-applications from midnight, Monday, April 24 – 11:59 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2023.

When the waiting list opens, applications may be completed online. Applicants can apply from anywhere with internet access.   

If you do not have internet access, computer access will be available at the LHA Central Office at 300 West New Circle Road, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.   

Computer access is also available at the Black & Williams Neighborhood Center at 498 Georgetown Street, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Accommodations for disabled, or non-English speaking residents, or the need for any other reasonable accommodation will be made available upon advance request by calling (859) 281-5060.  Persons with hearing or speech impairments can receive assistance contacting the LHA by dialing 7-1-1 to reach the Kentucky Telephone Relay Service.
