Weather prompts waste collection changes

Lexington’s Division of Waste Management is suspending collection services on Thursday due to inclement weather.

Citizens who normally have Thursday pickup will have their carts emptied on Monday, Feb. 15. Additionally, the Haley Pike Waste Management Facility, the Lexington Recycle Center and the Electronics Recycle Center will be closed on Thursday.

These collection changes and closures are in addition to those due to the Presidents Day holiday. Due to the holiday, residents with Monday as their regular collection day will be picked up Wednesday, Feb. 17 instead. The Haley Pike Waste Management Facility and the Electronics Recycle Center will be closed on Saturday, Feb. 13 and Monday, Feb. 15.
