Hiring process
Applicants must successfully complete each component of the four phase hiring process to be considered for selection as a Community Corrections recruit.
- Recruit applicant booklet form
- Oral interview
- Polygraph
- Medical exam with drug testing process
Compensation and benefits
Community Corrections officers have numerous employee benefits ranging from health insurance to a free fitness facility.
Documentation
Applicants who fail to provide a copy of a current driver’s license, social security card, state issued birth certificate and the diploma or transcripts of highest level of education completed before the filing deadline will not finish the hiring process.
All former or inactive military personnel must also provide a copy of their DD-214.
You may bring in these original documents any time during the hiring process. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. We will make copies for your file. You must fill out other pre-employment forms at the time of submission.
Recruit applicant booklet form
The information you provide in this background investigation booklet will be used to assist in the determining your suitability for the position of a Lexington Community Corrections officer. Read carefully and complete all required blank lines of the recruit applicant booklet form.
PLEASE NOTE: Incomplete booklets will delay the process for consideration.
Addendum sheet for Community Corrections Officer
Print the addendum sheet, fill out and turn sheet in to a Human Resources representative.
Administrative Office of the Courts Criminal Records Check Form
Print AOC criminal records check Form and fill out prior to written test day. Turn in the completed form to the Human Resources representative the day of the test. There is no fee for the records checks.
NOTE: Do not mail the form with a check or money order to the Administrative Office of the Courts. The Division of Community Corrections will send the completed form to the proper authorities.
Criminal history request and authorization of release
Fill out the Community Corrections criminal history request and LFUCG authorization of release forms completely. Turn in the completed form to the Human Resources representative. There is no fee for the records check.
Statement of Response Time, Statement of Informed Consent and Applicant Information Sign Off Forms
The following forms will need to be submitted with your packet for consideration of hire. Please fill out completely. All incomplete forms submitted may cause delays in the hiring process.
PREA Pre-Employment Questionaire
The PREA pre employment questionnaire must also be submitted with your application for hire. Some jobs which include direct contact with adult correctional facility inmates or juvenile detention facility resident are required to complete the questionnaire in accordance with the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003
