The Board, comprised of education and arts advocates, is vested with management and control of the Carnegie Center, a community learning and literary arts center. The Carnegie Center empowers people to explore and express their voices through imaginative learning and the literary arts. Programs encourage active, critical, and creative learning; support and promote Kentucky writers; establish partnerships with artists, educators, and community groups; engage the imagination through literary arts; and promote all components of literacy (esp. reading, writing, languages, and math) for people at all levels of learning. The Center also preserves and enhances the historic Carnegie library building for the benefit of the community.
The Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning's mission is to empower people to explore and express their voices through imaginative learning and the literary arts.
