Bike/Walk Lexington

The Lexington Fayette Urban County Government is working to make Lexington a more walkable and bike-friendly city. Often overlooked and underrated, bicycling and walking can be simple and pleasurable ways to stay healthy while protecting our environment and reconnecting with our community. Whether you are considering bike commuting, recreational riding, or looking for a way to stay fit, we hope to provide you with the resources and infrastructure you need to bike and walk Lexington.

Cycle September 2024

Join us this September for fun and communal bike-centric events around the city! Our friends at Broke Spoke, Seedleaf and Pedal Power are hosting events during the month. There will be a special community ride on Saturday, Sept. 28 geared at helping people feel comfortable riding in an urban setting.

Check out the events below!

Broke Spoke LGBT Night – Sept. 10

Sept. 10 | 6 – 9 p.m.
Broke Spoke | 501 W. Sixth St. # 130

An evening of education and community led by Queer mechanics.

Bring your bike, and we'll gladly show you how it works and/or help you fix whatever's wrong. Don't have a bike? We have sooo many to show you how to fix and maintain.

Most importantly, this is an opportunity to hang out, make friends, and empower Lexington's LGBTQ+ community on two wheels. Bring a friend, bring an ally, bring a snack. Do as little or as much as you want. We'll be happy just to have you around!

Pedal Power Clinic – Sept. 14

Broke Spoke Women + Femme Night – Sept. 17

Sept. 17 | 6 – 9 p.m.
Broke Spoke | 501 W. Sixth St. #130

An evening of education and community, led by women for women.

Bring your bike, and we'll teach you about it and/or how to fix it!
Just show up, and we'll use our bikes to teach you how to fix them!

Most importantly, this is a time to have fun, make friends and help us create a space and culture where women are safe, heard, and respected. Show up whenever you can, leave whenever you want.

All women and anyone who identifies as such are welcome. Bring your whole self (and your bike). This will be a recurring event every third Tuesday of the month.
