Aquatic Centers

Lexington is home to six aquatic centers. Aquatic facilities include play areas for children, slides, bathhouses and concession stands. All pools accept cash, check or credit card.

Aquatic Center Locations

Castlewood Aquatic Center and sprayground

Opening date for 2024 season: May 25
Closing date for 2024 season: August 13 (6 p.m.)

$7 – adult admission
$5 – youth (15 and under)

Features a looped slide, a giant octopus, a diving board, zero-depth entry, a small concession stand (snacks and drinks), and an enclosed splash pad.


Douglass Aquatic Center

Please note: Douglass Aquatic Center will be closed for the 2024 season. Qualifying households can register for complimentary pool passes for any other city pool for the 2024 season.

Southland Aquatic Center

  • Features a separate play pool for young children, a splash bucket, tall slide, zero-depth entry, and a concession stand (menu).

 

Shillito Aquatic Center 

Opening date for 2024 season: June 1
Closing date for 2024 season: September 2 (6 p.m.)

Post season hours (Aug. 14 – Sept. 2):

  • Features a diving board and climbing wall, two 50-meter lap lanes, a small separate toddler pool and a concession stand (menu).

     

Tates Creek Aquatic Center

  • Features a separate pool with an enclosed looped slide, a separate toddler pool with play structures, and a large pool that includes 50-meter lap lanes. Concessions are available at the golf course concession stand.

 

Woodland Aquatic Center

  • Features zero-depth entry, "Paradise Lagoon" play feature with multiple activities, a looped slide, a separate diving pool with two diving boards, a climbing wall, and a separate 25-meter lap pool, and a concession stand (menu).

Pool rules and guidelines

The following rules apply at all LFUCG aquatic centers:

  • No person shall be permitted in the pool with bandages, open sores or wounds.
  • Eating and drinking will be permitted in specified areas only.
  • There will be no running, pushing or horseplay.
  • Only one person on the diving board at a time.
  • No floatation devices allowed in the pool, including water wings, with the exception of Coast Guard-approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD). However, even Coast Guard-approved PFD will not be allowed on the slides or diving boards.
  • No goggles allowed on slides or diving boards.
  • Any minor under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a chaperone 17 or older.
  • All diving must be from the end of diving boards and straight forward, never off the side, one bounce per dive.
  • General swimming will not be allowed in the diving pool.
  • No animals are to be allowed in the pool area.
  • There will be no profanity.
  • Coolers and glass containers will not be allowed in pool area.
  • Stay off the life lines (ropes).
  • Only children 7 and under and their parents are permitted in wading pool area.
  • No smoking in or around pool area.
  • No one allowed in water during an electrical storm.
  • No alcoholic beverages or persons under the influence will be permitted.
  • Do not visit or talk to lifeguards while they are on duty.
  • T-shirts are not allowed to be worn into the pool. Nylon swim shirts are permitted in the pool.
  • Only proper swimming attire may be worn in the pool area – no cutoffs or street clothes.
  • Patrons must shower before entering pool.
  • Pool managers may add to this list other rules that pertain to their particular situation.
