Part of Devonport Drive to be closed temporarily for sewer work

Part of Devonport Drive will be closed beginning Wednesday, March 27, for sewer construction. The closure is expected to last for two weeks.

Devonport Drive near the Pleasant Cove Apartments will be closed to allow sanitary sewer construction across the road. Motorists can detour around the closure by using Alexandria Drive and Carson Drive to reach the other side of Devonport Drive.

Construction is part of the Parkers Mill trunk sanitary sewer project, which will increase the size of approximately 5,000 feet of sanitary sewer pipe from Alexandria Drive and Devonport Drive that crosses Versailles Road and ends near Cross Keys Park. This project is part of the federal consent decree requirements for Lexington to improve its sanitary sewer system.
