Lexington Parks & Recreation offers a cheerleading league for boys and girls ages 6 – 11. Participants learn the fundamental skills and techniques of football. Each player is guaranteed game-day playing time. The youth football training league is established on the core values of equity, competition, and sportsmanship, and encourages and promotes youth advocacy, family engagement, and volunteerism. Participants in this league learn the fundamental skills and techniques of cheerleading.
Season & Schedule
The 2024 youth cheerleading schedule will be announced at a later date. Practices begins in August. The regular season is seven games to be followed by a post-season tournament.
Games are scheduled weekly on:
- Saturdays at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
- Sundays at 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

League & Age Divisions
Teams may be formed as mixed-age squads or grouped by age-dependent on the number of participants. Teams cheer at home and away games for football teams from their home park and are invited to perform in an end-of-season showcase. Eligibility is determined by the participant's age as of Aug. 1, 2024.
Fees & Financial Assistance/Scholarships
$45 per participant
Uniform cost not included.
Financial assistance / Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships are available. Partial scholarships are available to participants based on need.
Individuals seeking scholarships must fill out an income eligibility application. Proof of income includes KTAP, KCHIP, medical card or another form of government aid.
All participants must re-apply for scholarship eligibility every year.
