A native of London, KY, Emmons has called Lexington home since 1999. After graduating from the University of Kentucky he began his career leading political candidates and ballot initiatives throughout Kentucky in his father's firm, Emmons & Company. He moved to lead Vice-Mayor Jim Gray's campaign for Mayor after working with Kentucky House Speaker Greg Stumbo in the State Capitol through four legislative sessions. Mayor-elect Gray selected Emmons to be his Chief of Staff in November 2010.

Kevin Atkins previously worked as a field representative in KY for United States Senator Mitch McConnell from February 1988 to January 2011. He also served as an Administrative Aide to the Mayor in the city of Hopkinsville, his hometown. Atkins is a member of the board, Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky, and holds a bachelors of science degree in public management from Austin Peay State University.

Tom Blues was born and raised in Detroit, earned undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Michigan and University of Iowa, and commenced a 33 year teaching career at the University of Kentucky in 1965. In 2006 he was elected to the first of three terms on the Urban County Council and began work in the mayor’s office early in 2013.

Originally from Bowling Green, Shaye has called Lexington home since 2002. She most recently served as Executive Director of the Henry Clay Center for Statesmanship. She returns to Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government after having served as chief of staff in the Office of the Mayor from 2007-2010. She holds a master's of public administration degree from the UK Martin School of Public Policy and Administration and a bachelor's degree in political science from Birmingham-Southern College. She was named a Lexington Young Professionals Rising Star in 2008 and one of Business Lexington's Leading Women in Central Kentucky in 2009.

Shapiro comes to the Mayor’s office having just earned a masters in public administration degree at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Before returning to school to pursue a new direction in public service, Shapiro co-owned a consulting company and was a senior executive with a health care organization. He lives in Lexington with his wife, a high-risk obstetrician at UK, and three boys.

Susan Straub is a Lexington native. Her career has included work in newspapers, local and state government and higher education. Susan has two sons and two grandchildren. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky.

Beth is a native of Pineville, Kentucky, and a graduate of Transylvania University. She moved to Washington, DC, after graduating from Transy, and spent five years working on Capitol Hill for former U.S. Senator Wendell Ford of Kentucky, and two years for former U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas. Beth then returned to Lexington and spent nine years working for former U.S. Congressman Ben Chandler. Beth and her husband, Bill, live in Lexington and have two children.

Maureen Watson is a native and lifelong resident of Lexington, KY. She has been with the Lexington- Fayette Urban County Government for 19½ years. She served as the legislative aide to former Vice Mayor Jim Gray and now joins him in his capacity as Mayor of Lexington. Watson and her husband, Michael, have three adult children and four grandchildren.

Lori Houlihan moved from Whitesville, KY to Lexington in 1981 to attend the University of Kentucky. Upon graduating, she began a twenty-year career in retail management in the downtown area, including 13 years of operating her own small business. She is a founding member of Local First Lexington, a grassroots business organization and in 2008, formed the March Madness Marching Band to celebrate and participate in Central Kentucky civic and cultural activities. Houlihan lives in Lexington with her husband, Hap, and their two sons.

Shauntae Hall joined the Lexington- Fayette Urban County Government in 2007. Previously, she worked in the banking industry. Hall earned a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Louisville. She and her husband, Darius, are natives to the Lexington area and have two children.

Hilary Angelucci came to Lexington, KY from Merrimack, New Hampshire, to attend the University of Kentucky. She graduated with a bachelor's of science in integrated strategic communications. While at UK, she was a member of Jumpstart, Great Expectations, The Pyramid Society and the Student Activities Board.

Vicki McAlister has been with the Lexington- Fayette Urban County Government for 8 years. Before joining local government, she worked at Island Creek Coal Co. for 18 years. She also worked as the Senior Contract Administrator for Costain Coal/ Lodestar Energy for 10 years. McAlister earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Eastern Kentucky University and has two adult children.
